ANNOUNCEMENT:  As of November 14, 2008 ZMI Portec Inc., has been added to the SEMCAN group of companies.  Transfer Bulks Systems (TBS) (www.transferbulksystems.com) has just secured the assets of ZMI Portec in Sibley, Iowa. ZMI Portec are a manufacturer of Lime Slaking equipment utilized in various applications such as Flue Gas desulfurization, pH control and water treatment, metal precipitation in mining applications etc.

Transfer Bulk Systems carries on the business of designing, engineering, manufacturing and installing high quality bulk chemical handling equipment systems for a wide variety of industrial, municipal and commercial clients. These systems include bulk storage and materials handling in which the process materials handled may be screened, sized, scaled, mixed, pumped, compounded or injected into a client's particular manufacturing process. The TBS bulk materials handling systems are designed to move the process materials from receiving, to storage, to final process consumption points in the most efficient and economical manner without compromising the long-term integrity of the client's facility or manufacturing process. 

Our subsidiary Stanco Projects (www.stancoprojects.com) specialize in designing and building these systems for the markets of, industrial water and wastewater treatment chemicals, mining chemical processes, steel making processes, environmental related effluent control dry sorbent chemicals, oil sands related environmental systems, food process automation and plastics manufacturing automation.

All Transfer Bulk Systems will incorporate specialty manufactured or distributed components that together form the basis of the final engineered solution for the client. These system components could include, bolted or welded storage silos, glass lined silos, geodesic dome covered vessels, pneumatic conveying systems, dry and liquid chemical feed and metering devices, mixing and reaction vessels and process automation controls.
